A classic recipe for pie crust that reminds us of Grandma’s

★Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 teaspoon salt

6-8 tablespoons ice water

★Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.

Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing with a fork until the dough just begins to hold together.

Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a disk. Wrap each disk tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight.

When ready to use, remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one disk of dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter, depending on your pie dish size.

Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough to your pie dish. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges.

Fill and bake according to your pie recipe instructions.

Enjoy your homemade pie with that nostalgic grandma’s touch!
