Old mashed bread with vanilla sauce

★Ingredients

2 cups milk

1/4 cup butter, melted

4 cups cubed day-old bread

1/2 cup sugar

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

★Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 1.5-quart baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes and milk. Let it soak for 10 minutes.

Stir in the melted butter, sugar, beaten eggs, raisins (if using), cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.

While the pudding is baking, prepare the vanilla sauce.

For the Vanilla Sauce
★Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup heavy cream

★Instructions

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Stir in the sugar and heavy cream, and cook until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Serve the warm bread pudding with the vanilla sauce drizzled over the top.
