1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 large head of cabbage
1 cup cooked rice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup beef or vegetable broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Sour cream (optional, for serving)
★Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place the whole head in the boiling water. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the outer leaves are tender enough to peel off. Remove the leaves and set aside to cool.
In a bowl, mix together the ground beef or turkey, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, half of the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides as you go. Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
Pour the remaining crushed tomatoes and broth over the cabbage rolls. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the meat is cooked throu
