Here’s the recipe for John Wayne’s dish

★Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

1 bell pepper, diced

1 cup sour cream

1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups biscuit mix

2 eggs

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes

★Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until the beef is browned and the vegetables are softened. Drain any excess grease.

Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, biscuit mix, and eggs until well combined.

Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the beef mixture in the baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is cooked through.

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Optionally, garnish with sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, or diced tomatoes.
