Suggested Delicious Filling: Chocolate Ganache Filling

Ingredients for Ganache:

  • 8 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions for Ganache:

  1. Heat Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
  2. Add Chocolate: Remove the cream from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a minute to melt the chocolate.
  3. Stir: Gently stir the mixture until smooth. Add the butter and vanilla extract and continue stirring until the butter is completely melted and the ganache is smooth and shiny.
  4. Cool Slightly: Let the ganache cool slightly before using it as a filling.

Assembling the Pie:

  1. Prepare Base: Follow the instructions for the boiled water pie to create the crust and the base filling.
  2. Layer Ganache: Once the boiled water pie has cooled, pour the slightly cooled ganache over the top of the pie, spreading it evenly.
  3. Chill: Allow the pie to chill in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours or until the ganache is set.

Enjoy!
