★Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ice Cream Base:
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, heavy cream, and milk until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, then whisk until well combined.
  1. Chill the Mixture:
  • Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This ensures that the base is thoroughly chilled, which helps with the freezing process.
  1. Churn the Ice Cream:
  • Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes, but times may vary.
  1. Freeze Until Firm:
  • Once the ice cream has reached a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container.
  • Freeze for at least 2-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired firmness.
  1. Serve:
  • Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Tips:

  • For an extra creamy texture, you can add an additional egg yolk to the base mixture.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can pour the mixture into a shallow dish, freeze it, and stir every 30 minutes until it reaches the desired consistency. This method will take longer and may result in a slightly different texture.

Enjoy!
