Old time oven peach cobbler

★Ingredients

For the Filling:

6-8 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (or 2 large cans of sliced peaches, drained)

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional, for thicker filling)

For the Batter:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Fluffy cloud cake

Baked oatmeal chocolate bars

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Peaches:
  • If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them.
  • In a large bowl, combine the peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • If you prefer a thicker filling, mix in the cornstarch.
  1. Prepare the Batter:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the milk and melted butter, and stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  1. Assemble the Cobbler:
  • Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Don’t worry if the batter doesn’t cover all the peaches; it will spread as it bakes.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  1. Serve:
  • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.

Enjoy!
