Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

★Ingredients

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, beating on low speed until just blended.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  6. Scoop Dough: Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake: Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may still look slightly underdone, but they will set as the cookies cool.
  8. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
