★Instructions
- Prepare the caramel sauce:
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, and butter. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and stir.
Pour the sauce into a baking dish.
- Prepare the dumplings:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract, and stir until a soft dough forms.
Drop spoonfuls of dough into the caramel sauce in the baking dish.
- Bake:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the dumplings in the caramel sauce for about 20-25 minutes, until they puff up and turn golden brown.
