1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups warm water

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Mix until well combined.

Add Water: Gradually add the warm water to the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until a shaggy dough forms. The dough will be sticky and rough.

Cover and Rest: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rest at room temperature for 8 to 24 hours. This long fermentation process allows the bread to develop flavor and texture without kneading.

Preheat the Oven: Place a Dutch oven or heavy pot with a lid in the oven and preheat to 450°F (230°C). Preheating the pot ensures a crispy crust.

Shape the Dough: After the resting period, lightly flour a work surface and your hands. Gently shape the dough into a ball. Place it on a piece of parchment paper for easier handling.

Bake the Bread: Carefully remove the hot pot from the oven. Lift the dough using the parchment paper and place it into the pot. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Cool: Remove the bread from the pot and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
