★Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

4-5 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

★Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough from the edges.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Dot the top with pieces of butter.
  5. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  6. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
