Simple Muffins with Sausage

★Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled

1/4 cup melted butter

1 cup milk

1 large egg

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease the muffin cups.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add Cheese and Sausage: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled sausage.
  4. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, and egg until well combined.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
  6. Fill Muffin Tin: Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  8. Cool: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • You can use any type of sausage you like (breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, etc.).
  • For added flavor, consider adding some chopped green onions or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the batter.
  • These muffins are best served warm and can be reheated in the microwave or oven.
