2 teaspoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

1 pound (450g) ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

★Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
  • In a large skillet or saucepan, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off excess fat.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, sugar, salt, basil, oregano, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook, uncovered, for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and parsley. Mix well.
