★Ingredients

2 cups of milk

2 ounces of semi-sweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped

1 teaspoon of cornstarch (optional, for a thicker texture)

2 tablespoons of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)

★Instructions

  1. Heat the Milk:
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling.
  1. Add Chocolate:
  • Add the finely chopped chocolate to the warm milk, stirring continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  1. Add Sugar and Thicken (if desired):
  • Stir in the sugar. If you prefer a thicker hot chocolate, mix the cornstarch with a small amount of cold milk to form a slurry, then add it to the saucepan. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens slightly.
  1. Add Vanilla:
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  1. Serve:
  • Pour the hot chocolate into cups. If desired, top with whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
