★Ingredients
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (395g)
1 cup of whole milk
1 can of evaporated milk (354ml)
1 packet of unflavored gelatin (7g)
1/4 cup of water
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
Fresh fruit, chocolate shavings, or other toppings (optional)
My Amish friend showed me this treat and I couldn’t stop eating it!
★Instructions
- Prepare the gelatin:
- In a small bowl, dissolve the unflavored gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it sit for a few minutes to bloom.
- Blend the mixture:
- In a blender, add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract.
- Blend on medium speed until everything is well combined.
- Heat the gelatin:
- Once the gelatin has bloomed, heat it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until it’s completely melted (do not let it boil).
- Add the melted gelatin to the blender with the milk mixture.
- Final blend:
- Blend the mixture on high speed for about 2 minutes to ensure the gelatin is well incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
- Chill:
- Pour the mixture into a mold or individual serving cups.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the dessert is set and firm.
