★Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast:
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in the warm water. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  1. Combine Ingredients:
  • Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir until the dough starts to come together.
  1. Knead Dough:
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  1. First Rise:
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  1. Shape and Second Rise:
  • Punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for about 30-60 minutes, or until it has risen above the edge of the pan.
  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Bake:
  • Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes, or until it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  1. Cool:
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Enjoy!
