How to make classic pie dough

★Ingredients

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup ice water

3/4 cup vegetable shortening

Jewish apple cake

Chicken alfredo lasagna

Delicious cinnamon cake

★Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together flour and salt.

Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add ice water, tossing with a fork until a dough forms.

Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a disk.

Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Roll out one disk on a floured surface to fit your pie plate.

Place the rolled dough in the pie plate and trim excess.

Fill with your favorite pie filling and repeat rolling out the second disk for the top crust or lattice.

Bake according to your pie recipe instructions.
