Cheddar Quick Bread Recipe

★Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup milk

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

★Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and dried herbs.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s well coated with the flour mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
