Pie Made From Term Milk

★Ingredients

1 unbaked pie crust (9-inch)

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

3/4 cup sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional, for sprinkling on top)

Meat broth with frozen vegetables

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare Pie Crust: Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges as desired.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed. Add the sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Pour Filling: Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Add Nutmeg (optional): If using, sprinkle a light dusting of ground nutmeg over the top of the custard.
  6. Bake: Carefully place the pie in the preheated oven. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Serve: Once cooled, slice and serve. Refrigerate any leftovers.
