This was a cream cake

★Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk

For the Cream Filling:

  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  1. Make the Cake:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  1. Prepare the Cream Filling:
  • In a medium bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  1. Assemble the Cake:
  • Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread the prepared cream filling evenly over the top.
  • Place the second cake layer on top of the filling.
  1. Make the Frosting:
  • In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  1. Frost the Cake:
  • Spread the whipped cream frosting over the top and sides of the assembled cake.
  1. Decorate:
  • Decorate as desired with fresh fruits, chocolate shavings, or any preferred toppings.
  1. Chill and Serve:
  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the frosting to set.
