Moroccan chow mein with ground beef in a tagine

★Ingredients

3 cloves of garlic, minced

1.5 pounds of ground beef

2 teaspoons of hoisin sauce

1/4 cup of soy sauce

1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger

1 tablespoon of sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Optional: 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes for heat

★Instructions

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Transfer the cooked ground beef to the slow cooker.

Add minced garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, freshly grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the slow cooker.

Stir the ingredients until well combined.

Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until flavors are well melded and the beef is tender.

Serve the Mongolian ground beef over cooked chow mein noodles or steamed rice.

Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Enjoy!
