Crispy potato cakes

★Ingredients

4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and grated

1 egg, beaten

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Vegetable oil for frying

Salt and pepper to taste

★Instructions

Grate the potatoes using a box grater or a food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chopped onion, beaten egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.

Take a handful of the potato mixture and shape it into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Place the patty in the hot skillet and gently press down with a spatula to flatten it slightly.

Heat about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Cook the potato cakes for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Once cooked, transfer the potato cakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Repeat the process with the remaining potato mixture, adding more oil to the skillet as needed.

Serve the crispy potato cakes hot, either as a side dish or as a tasty snack!
